This is our actual Sunday blog as the other two were done by louisa and myself over the last two days. I'm feeling great today and now Louisa is starting to get some of my symptoms so we've purchased a family pack of imodium.
Our day started with kai waking up at 2:30am in the morning with him falling in and out of sleep over the next 4.5 hours. At 7am, we fed Kai his bottle and by the time he was ready, we were ready for our breakfast by 8am. Today was the first time I’ve had a real breakfast probably in the last three or four days. After asking the owner of the B&B we decided to go on a tour of the coast up to a small town called Ballito. We walked the boardwalk and enjoyed a festival where they had go-kart racing and burger eating contests. After wanting to take a picture of Kai in the sand , beside the phrase “SOUTH AFRICA 2010”, that Louisa had wrote, I let go of Kai and he did a nose plant with sand managing to find itself in almost every crevice on his body. Sand we have learned, is not a parents friend. We continued our journey to the crocodile creek farm where we saw 5 species of crocodile, a black mamba snake, vipers and a python. We took a picture of Louisa holding a croc and Kai and me holding a python.
Back to the B&B by 4:30 and the nightly routine starts all over again. Hopefully Louisa starts feeling better tomorrow.

Wow! Trent and I are amazed with you Bob & Louisa! To be able to get on to the routine of having a new baby, and travel around South Africa seeing the sights. You two seem like old hands already. We are so loving your blog, and love to hear about the adventures. We can't wait to meet Kai in person and look forward to reading the rest of the stories.
ReplyDeleteglad you are feeling much better - your blog makes me want to get on a plane and head for sa but alas not sure if hubby would be happy "just heading out to the shops be back in 4 days" may not go down too well. yes, kai properly does get unsettled when you move as he may feel that he may be abandoned again - and may also sense the nervousness and anxiety in both of you when you have to move to another strange location - but you are now a family and these things will all settle down and go away - and with such loving parents kai's anxieties will go away very fast - i read the blog to john who loves it as well - missed it on those 2 days when you weren't writing (or at least it seemed like 2 days to me). very adventurous holding pythons and crocs ...... hope you took pics that you can send me - yes i am a picture junkie just can't get enough of kai but would love a pic of the whole family - i have the pic of kai holding(?) the football on my notice board by the computer - everyone that comes into our house hears about kai and your adventures in sa and are shown all the pics.... as i keep saying he is just so adorable i could eat him up. lots of love
